Resistance doesn't have to be hard. Come discover the joy in resistance.
Join the RetreatWhat if resistance felt like joy?
They want you to believe that resistance is hard so that you won't do it.
Â
I am here to tell you that resistance can feel like joy. And not surface-level joy either. I'm talking about a different kind of joy.
- The kind of joy that restores your energy
- The kind that makes you want to keep going.
- Joy that feels light, alive, connected and yours to return to again and again
Because when resistance feels heavy, you avoid it.
When it feels alive, connected, and yours — you return to it again and again.
That changes everything.
Are you thinking?
- "I wish there was more I could do"
- "I wish I understood things better"
- "I want to do something… but I’m afraid of getting it wrong (or getting canceled)
- Would anything I do even make a difference?"
Then you’re not the problem.
You’re responding exactly how the system trained you to.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to shift.
Â
I am going to show you that resistance can be fun and joyful so you will want to do it all the time and with passion. Fun and joy does not equate to frivolous. Fun and joy does not equal unimportant. Some of the most important things and people in this world bring us joy.
If you think it is impossible to have joy while resisting, it's because that's what you've been programmed to think.
Unlearning the lies we've been told is all a part of the process.
INTRODUCING
The Joy of Resistance
Are You Ready to Stop Surviving and Start Living Free?
Â
This two-day virtual retreat will give you real, practical steps to building and maintaining a resistance practice that is rooted in joy — not fear, not exhaustion, not overwhelm.
You will leave knowing how to:
- Identify the systems that have been keeping you limited — and see exactly where they live in your own life
- Build a personalized resistance practice that works for your real, everyday life
- Find and activate your community so you are never doing this alone
With a deeper understanding of what resistance actually means — and the tools to practice it with joy — you will stop waiting for someone to give you your freedom and start claiming it yourself.
THE REAL TALK
When Donald Trump was elected — the first time — I had to go home from work the next day. I genuinely thought people were going to be in the streets killing Black folks and members of the global majority with no consequence. Police officers were already getting away with murder on camera and keeping their jobs. I thought that was only going to escalate.
It didn't happen in exactly the way I feared. But it happened in other ways. And I carried that heaviness for four years.
Even when Biden was elected, the weight didn't really lift. The water was already poisoned. And Biden wasn't that different — just a quieter version of the same thing.
This time, when Trump became president again, I made a decision: I refuse to live in fear.
What I know from talking to hundreds of people over the years is that resistance sounds like a chore — and it doesn't have to be. I have been joyfully resisting for the past two years and I want to teach you everything I know.
.
WHAT IS RESISTANCE?
Resistance is when we don't follow the status quo.
The world is set up so that the people who are not in power blindly follow the people who are. That is what we are raised to do. And in the United States — and all over the world — the cracks in the system are showing.
Our resistance is the last thing that the people in power want. So they bombard us with news and full-out shenanigans to keep us sad, hopeless, and confused. The most effective thing we can do is resist.
Some people feel like they don't know enough. Some people feel like they can't do enough. Some people feel like they don't know what to do. Some people wonder — if they did do something, would it even make a difference?
I'm here to tell you: those feelings are the systems working. When you feel overwhelmed like that, you tend to do nothing. And that is exactly how the systems want you to react.
Everything that you do matters. I will teach you how to know what to do next so you not only feel like you make a difference but you actually do as well.
WHY JOY IS THE STRATEGY?
Â
Here is why finding joy in resistance is not optional. It is not a nice bonus. It is the whole strategy.
Â
When you have joy, you find peace. When you find peace, you are able to rest. When you rest, you wake up rejuvenated and ready to keep going — because the work matters, and the work is not finished.
Â
The imbalances built into our systems are not going away overnight. The only way to resist them sustainably — the only way to actually keep going without burning out, without shutting down, without running on empty — is to find joy in the resistance itself.
Â
Joy is what makes it sustainable. You are taking care of yourself during the fight, not after it.
Â
And when you have that — when you have found joy in the work, when you have rest that actually restores you, when you have peace that holds even in the middle of the madness — you do not just survive the resistance. You show up to it with enthusiasm. With excitement. With reverence for what you are doing and energy to do it well. You spend very little time in burnout. You become the kind of revolutionary who can keep going, without needing to stop for long times because there is built-in long stretches of rest and recovery time that you do not question whether or not you deserve. This is how we change the status quo and the imbalances we have. The only way to fight these things sustainably is if we find joy in resistance.Â
Â
Because if you already feel good. You already feel alive. You already feel rested and energized and ready to put your best foot forward during the resistance.Â
That is what makes it sustainable. That is how we make a difference.

NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Rashida Bonds
Hi, I'm The Ally Coach.
I help people understand the TRUE meaning of allyship and do the necessary work: the inner work. Because true allyship starts with healing yourself, unlearning the programming we've all absorbed, and understanding that none of us are free until all of us are free.
I believe that liberation is not a destination — it's a daily practice. And it doesn't have to feel heavy. After years of carrying the weight of what's happening in the world, I discovered something that changed everything: resistance can be joyful. In fact, joy is one of the most powerful tools we have. When we are grounded in genuine joy, we have the energy, the clarity, and the spirit to actually create change — not just react to the chaos.
Joy is not a reward we get after the work is done. Joy is the work. It's how we sustain ourselves. It's how we stay human in a world that is constantly trying to shrink us into something smaller and safer and easier to ignore. I have found my liberation in joy. And I want that for you too.
Real transformation doesn't happen alone. It happens in community.
Ready to stop worrying about getting it "right" and start doing the work — with joy, with intention, and with people who are on the same path?
Let's do this together. I'm here, and I've saved you a seat.
"Rashida is the person I want to be singing with. She is the person I want to be crying with. She is the person I want to be in community with. Because she sees me. She is with me. She is present with me. As a whole human being."
-Â Angela Han
"Rashida held the space with warmth, wisdom, compassion, humour and grace. It felt like a safe and comfortable space in which challenging and difficult questions could be asked and answered truthfully without judgment.
Listening to the questions of participants and Rashidas answers was really thought provoking, helpful and insightful. I am looking forward to future classes with Rashida."
- Bodhini Hridaya
"The culture Rashida creates in her spaces is the kind that stays with you - not just as a learning experience, but as a transformative call to action, a deep remembering of what it means to be human in a world shaped by systems that often deny our shared humanity."
-Â Martina Gobec
THE JOY PART
Â
There are only two options right now: things finally change, or we go back to business as usual.
Personally, I never want to go back to business as usual. We are in a place where we can create a brand new world. Let's do that together — with joy and community.
Â
The more joyous we are, the more peaceful we are. The more rest we get, the more we are able to go back out and affect more change every day. We have the energy. We have the spirit. We are not exhausted and afraid. We are excited and motivated.
Â
That is the joy of resistance.

 WHY NOW?
If not now, when? We are all here, experiencing very similar realities right now. People need to feel hope and genuine joy — right now. Not as a distant goal. As something they can access this weekend. We invest time in watching the news. We invest time in talking about what's wrong. We invest time in worrying, in hopelessness, in losing sleep. Why not spend two days investing in your future instead?
